Side Effect is a jazz-fusion trio from Northern Colorado featuring vibraphonist Rogan

Magyar, bassist Peyton Hansen, and drummer Koda Grey. Drawing largely on

influences from classical, groove, and world music, the group has set aside strict genre

boundaries to simply write the music that inspires them. Their songs are rooted in

melody and rhythm, while leaving space for improvisation and allowing each

performance to evolve in new directions. Their music invites a broad audience – casual

listeners can sink into the ambient textures, while jazz enthusiasts can delve into the

band’s talented musicianship and intricate compositions.

In 2024, Side Effect released their debut single Mind Fazer, a hypnotic and flowing

introduction to their unique sound and a preview of what’s to come. The trio is currently

recording their first full-length album, slated for release in summer 2026.
